Aloha!

So, we had a great trip to Hawaii! We spent a day in Oahu, then headed to Maui for a week. As usual, traveling with small children was an adventure. They all did pretty great though, and we survived the long-drawn out travel schedule. Oahu was fun, we played at the beach, visited the Dole Pineapple Plantation (where they had the yummiest pineapple floats... which I will crave until I return), visited Pearl Harbor, went to the Laie temple and BYU Hawaii campus. Camille is still seriously considering BYU Hawaii, and hopes that her cousin Kennan will come and be her roommate. We headed to Maui next. We did some of the same things we'd done on previous trips, but added a few new things to our list. So as to prepare anyone who may be thinking about visiting Hawaii soon, this is a list of things you should do:
  • Go on the road to Hana (at least once in your lifetime). It is a little long and hard for those who might get carsick, but well worth it. Just remember to pack extra clothes, because you will be driving through a rain forest after all (duh)! We were literally drenched after getting stuck in a storm during a hike. The kids were troopers, but Camille did find a palm leaf to use as an umbrella.
  • Eat lots of Hawaiian Shaved Ice... I just can't get enough of that stuff, especially when there is coconut icecream at the bottom. Watch out, the kids WILL steal and eat all of yours.
  • Go to a luau, and make friends with the chef, so he is really nice and you get lots of good food and attention.

To be continued...

We're so jealous! We're glad you guys had so much fun. These pictures just remind us of how much fun we had with you guys last year! We can't wait to join you there again! And I'm sure Kennan would love to go to school in Hawaii someday too. Love you guys!
